DOMA held unconstitutional by the Supreme Court

In a 5-4 decision (United States v. Windsor) the Supreme Court struck down Section 3 of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) as being unconstitutional as it violated the equal protection clause of the Fifth Amendment.
