The DHS extended TPS protection for Haitians for 18 months, through July 22, 2017. Applicants may re-register their status from August 25, 2015 to October 26, 2015. Similarly, the requirements for employment authorization for Haitian F-1 nonimmigrant students will also be suspended to relieve the severe economic hardship caused by the January 12, 2010, earthquake in Haiti.
