Today, USCIS announced that both the 65,000 regular cap and the 20,000 advanced degree cap have been reached for this year's H-1B filing. The agency will no longer accept any more H-1B filings. A visa lottery will be held to select cases for further processing. Employers may continue to submit other cap-exempt H-1B petitions (e.g., for extensions / amendments.)
