July 2019 Visa Bulletin: Family 2A Becomes Current!

In the July visa bulletin, the Final Action Date for Family 2A becomes current, as predicted, for all countries.  The Family 2A Preference category - created for spouses and children of U.S. green card holders - has not been current for many years.  Hence, this is indeed a great news.

USCIS announced that all Family Preference categories must use the Filing Date Chart in July. The F2A category is an exception. USCIS confirmed on June 26th that applications in the F2A category should be filed according to the Final Action Dates for July.

Employment Second and Third Preference categories are current for all countries except China and India.

China's EB-2 and EB-3 move forward by 3.5 and 3.0 months respectively.

India's EB-2 and EB-3 do not have any significant movements.

Note:  The August 2019 Final Action Dates have been imposed on the EB-3 and EB-3 Other Workers preference categories as of July 11, 2019.  This change was required to control visa number use within the annual limits, according to the Department of State.
